| This paper deals with a group of species of the Neotropical genus Guatteria (Annonaceae) which are characterized by leaves with tiny warts (verruculae) on both surfaces and by elongate and short-stipitate monocarps (i.e., the length of the monocarp body surpassing the length of the stipe). These species were placed by Fries in Guatteria sect. Mecocarpus (Fries 1939) (the name derives from Ancient Greek μηκων = Poppy and καρπος = fruit: fruit resembling that of Papaver species). | The genus Mezzettiopsis Ridl. (Annonaceae) is revised and transferred to Orophea Blume subgenus Sphaerocarpon Keßler. Phylogenetic analysis of subgenus Sphaerocarpon and Mezzettiopsis places Mezzettiopsis within the subgenus. Furthermore, the prevalence of common or overlapping character states and the paucity of unique character states necessitate the transfer. Two species were transferred from Mezzettiopsis. | A micropropagação de anonáceas poderá contribuir para a obtenção de plantios mais homogêneos e a inserção de novas espécies em sistemas produtivos. Entretanto, plantas cultivadas in vitro freqüentemente exibem alterações anatômicas e sua quantificação poderá auxiliar na obtenção de protocolos de cultivo mais eficientes. | A biologia floral e a polinização por abelhas Euglossini de uma Annonaceae é descrita pela primeira vez e as adaptações a esse modo de polinização são comparadas às de outras espécies da família, que é predominantemente polinizada por coleópteros. A espécie Unonopsis guatterioides foi estudada em dois fragmentos de mata de terra firme no município de Manaus (AM). | The soursop Annona muricata is an important fruit for national market, and for exportation, but the crop is affected by pests and diseases. The seed borer wasp Bephratelloides cubensis Ashmead is the pest that produces the highest damage to the crop in Mexico. Sixty percent of damaged fruits and 5-50 seeds per fruit have been registered, with 25% reduction in yield. In Nayarit, Mexico, 100% of damaged fruits were recorded. In this State, an experiment with soursop was conducted to study the life cycle under field conditions and to determine diurnal behavior of the female of B. cubensis. | This is the first study about galls, gall makers and associated fauna of the Ecological Station of Jataí. Galls are plant structures formed by abnormal growth of cells, tissues or organs induced by several organisms, as fungous, nematoids and insects. Five areas of the conservation unity, two in the phytophysionomy of cerrado in regeneration and three in the cerradão area were studied, totalizing 69 morphotypes of galls on 41 host species from 24 families. | The objective of this study was to characterize the chemical composition of the essential oil from the leaves of Annona emarginata (Schltdl.) H. Rainer 'terra-fria' and Annona squamosa L. The species were grown in a greenhouse for 18 months, which nutrient solution was applied weekly; the plants were then harvested and the leaves dried to extract the essential oil. The essential oil was analyzed by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry to study its chemical profiles. | Avaliou-se o efeito da aplicação pós-colheita de 1-metilciclopropeno (1-MCP) e cera sobre o comportamento respiratório e as mudanças bioquímicas associadas ao amaciamento de graviola 'Morada', durante o armazenamento refrigerado. Os frutos, produzidos em Limoeiro do Norte-Ceará, foram colhidos na maturidade fisiológica.
